Eye Examination

Eye examination in Cramlington

Why you need regular eye checks

Our comprehensive eye examination is more than a simple test of the sharpness of your vision. It can detect (before you notice them) early signs of eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts and retinal problems. What’s more, your eyes are a window to your health and our optometrists can identify early onset of several common health problems, such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes. In fact, regular eye examinations should be a normal part of all your health routines because all of our eyes change over time.

What to expect in an eye examination

Before we offer you advice or recommendations, we’ll ask a small number of questions about your occupation, family history, and lifestyle. For example, how often you use computer screens, or read small print or take part in sporting activities. You will then spend around 30 minutes having your eyes examined, including a test of your visual field, range of eye movement and possibly tests for colour too.
